Safety codes are revised on a regular basis. When codes are revised requirements are added and improved to make systems safer. So it would be accurate to say that the most recent codes are the safest as compared to the preceding editions.
The latest North American elevator safety codes are ASME A17.1 – 2004 / CSA B44 – 2004.
The 2004 editions in the harmonized A17.1 and CSA-B44 have affected the following sections in the elevator control area
